Austrian
4.Panzergrenadier Brigade in 'Ostarrichi 2001'
The main shock troops of the Austrian Army are the two Panzergrenadier
brigades numbered 3 and 4. 'Ostarrichi 2001' was a good opportunity
to see the 4th Panzergrenadier Brigade in large-scale exercises
in the open field, in which the Leopard 2A4, Saurer 4K AFA-G2
APC, M109A5O, and the Steyr SK light tank went into action with
the panzergrenadiers.

Dingo
Armored Patrol Vehicle
The ATF Dingo was designed by Kraus Maffei Wegmann and based on
the Unimog U1550L. The Bundeswehr ordered 56 vehicles and the
bulk of the Dingos were deployed on operation with the German
KFOR troops in Kosovo. The Dingo fills the gap between the Mercedes
G wagon and the Fuchs wheeled APC. Its main task will be patrolling
operations during peace support missions.

US
Army Interim Brigade Combat Team
With lessons learned from the Gulf War and Somalia, the US Army
needs a force in between the heavy and light forces. Before the
'Objective Force' is available, an 'Interim Force' is developed
and experimented using existing family of vehicles with good mobility
and firepower. The IBCT will exploit new tactics and doctrines,
and will be the base for the 'Objective Force' which will be available
not earlier than 2010.
